TRINITY CHURCH

Ladies Hold Evening The ladies of Trinity Church recently held a function in aid of the funds of the church which proved to be very successful in spite of the rain which militated against attendance in the evening. A flower show was held, and points prizes were won by Jlrs. A. A. Phelps, Mrs. E. O. Chapman, and Mrs. Freeman. Other prize-winners were Mesdames Bott. Hornblow, 11. W. Smith. L. J. Clark, and JlcClellan, and Messrs Scott and Chambers. The champion bloom was a “William Turner’’ shown by Mrs. Freeman. In the vegetable sec tion, Mrs. Hornblow and Master White were the chief winners. The cookery classes were won by Jlesdames W. B. Brown, W. B. Scott, Pritchard, Priest. Unsworth, and G. Roberts. Mrs. Knox Gilmer was introduced by the Rev Bramwell Scott, add gave a most interesting address on the beauty and attraction of the garden. At the evening session a programme was provided by the pupils of Miss Cressell Vaughan. In the parade of push chairs and tricycles, the prizewinners were:—Tricycles. Lawrence Brown: prams for those under 7, Marion Howe, Ken Vickers, special prize. For those under 12 years the winner was Joyce Workman, with Hilda Packham second. During the afternoon and evening an exhibition of curios and antiques was held in an adjoining room.
