BOXING CONTEST
Parker Defeats Lister By Telegraph. —Press Association. Dunedin, May 5.’ Eddie Parker (12.0), of Timaru. beat Harry Lister (ll.S), West Coast, by a narrow margin of 'points in a 15round contest last night. There was a large attendance, and a fast, scientific exhibition of boxing was provided, Parker’s superior ringcraft gaining him the decision. Lister made the fight for most of the way, and there was a good deal of clinching, in which the West Coaster landed some telling blows. Parker was more at home in the distance fighting. CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING By Telegnph.—Press Association. Invercargill, May 5. Advice has been received by the Southland Boxing Association that the New Zealand Boxing Council has allotted the annual Australasian championships to Invercargill this year. The tentative dates are October 8 and 9.
