SHIP RUNS AGROUND
Four Seamen Lose Lives Vancouver, May 4. A message from Astoria, Oregon states that three seamen were drowned and a fourth killed aboard the Norwegian motor-ship Childar, which struck the Columbia River bar on Friday. The masts and upper works were swept away. The ship was later picked up by a United States coastguard ship, and is being towed to port. Tbe Childar vs laden with lumber from British Columbia ports, and was bound for South Africa. ■
