Samuel Insull in Greece POLICE ESCORT OFFERED

Samuel Instill, the American financier, who was wanted in Greece on an order for deportation to America, was arrested aboard the cargo vessel Maiotis, which was overhauled by a Greek torpedo boat. Previously he had disappeared before tlie police reached Ins house but was found to be aboard the Maiotis, bound for Port Said. . Following an interview by the American Minister with the Foreign Minister it was decided that Insull should return and stay in Greece for 24 houis under supervision, and then be allowed to depart where he pleases. Tlie Government cancelled the order for expulsion against his wife. ' The Maiotis has arrived. It is announced that after compliance with formalities Insull will/ be permitted to leave as soon as possible for Djibouti, en route to Abyssinia, -Mrs. Insull hurried to the Ministry .of the Interior and begged Hie Minister to send a message to her husband saying that he would not be handed over to tlie American authorities; The Minister agreed, adding that Insull could have an escort of police during his stay in port. However, the American Legation, although informed of the Maiotis's arrival, took no action. A later message slates that the Maiotis sailed with Insull aboard. BROTHER IN .CANADA .. Order for Extradition (Received March 18, 7.40 p.m.) Toronto, March 16. Tlie Chief Justice, tlie Rt. Hou. Sir William Mulock, confirmed the extradition order against Martin Insull. who is wanted in Chicago on similar charges to his brother Samuel. Martin Insull lost a 17-month battle, in which he fought extradition to the High Court. He is now- being held for the United States authorities.
