NEW ZEALAND HEMP
Admiralty Tests Passed PARTIAL USE LIKELY (Received March 18, 6.45 p.m.) London, .March 17. After large-scale trials the Admiraltyreports that New Zealand hemp compares closely with sisal and as the Admiralty policy is to give preference to Empire products, the results were sufficiently encouraging to warrant the partial adoption of New Zealand hemp as long as supplies were obtainable at satisfactory prices. The fibre was sufficiently strong to give the breaking strains demanded in official specification.
