PETONE HOCKEY CLUB More Members Wanted Although the past season was a very 'trying one In many ways, the annual report of the Petone Hockey Club expresses the opinion that the club’s experiences will be beneficially felt, and that the future will be bright. Three teams, senior B, junior B. and junior A, were entered in the Wellington Hockey Association’s competitions. The senior B team was fourth on the ladder.

The travelling expenses of all unemployed members were defrayed by the club, which has done, and will continue to do, its utmost to help members and the interests of hockey generally in Petone. Good team work was prevented to some extent by accidents from week to week. The ‘free accident fund cov-

ered all injuries, and. due to the work of the social committee, the fund is still healthy. Full advantage was not taken of the floodlights, and members are urged to make the maximum use of this facility during the coming season. Discussion is urged on the question of increasing the membership, and a suggestion to be placed before the annual meeting is the enrolling of honorary members at a modest subscrip tion.
