JUDGED IN LONDON
Cheese From Wairarapa SHOW PLACINGS VARIED Dominion Special Service. Carterton, March 17. The cheese exhibited and judged at the Wairarapa show at Carterton on October last was put under a further test by bein"- again judged on arrival in London in December, and at approximately the same time in Wellington. There were three iudgings: Dairy Division, London, Anglo-Continental Produce Go., Loudon, •ind the Dairy Division, Wellington. The judging done by the Dairy Division at the show, and again in Wellington m December, did not alter the show placin"s but the London judging considerably varied the position, as will be seen from the comparison below: —
Mr. W. Wright, inspector of Dairy Products. London, in his comment, stated that the quality of the cheese as a parcel was rather disappointing. A number of the bodies were showing excess acid, were harsh and sticky to rub. and were inclined to be bleached together with a bitterness of flavour. The cheese was also showing a considerable amount of loose and.fractured texture. The cheese placed first (Pahintun,) were smooth in body, but just a trifle tender. TEACHER TO RETIRE Mr. W. C.
