Motor-cycle and Car PILLION RIDER KILLED Others Injured; One Badly Instantaneous death io the pillion passenger, serious injuries to the rider of the motor-cycle, and injuries to the driver .f the car followed a collision that occurred between a motor-cycle anti a motor-car at the corner of the Hutt Road and the Ngahauranga Gorge Road on Saturday evening. ■: A woman and a girl who were also in the car were unhurt, although the car was badly damaged. Leslie London, of Tawa Flat. Stanley Keith Swan, rider of the cycle, received injuries to the head and face. His injuries were serious, but he was reported late last night ag being in a satisfactory condition. Alfred J. Daniel, the driver of tlie car, an engineer employed by the Gear Meat Company, who lives at 45 Queen Street, Petone, received a wound to the right hand and shock. He was discharged from hospital yesterday. The accident occurred at 6-15 p.m., The motor-cycle, which bad been going north along the Hutt .Road, was turning the corner into the Ngahauranga• Gorge when it collided bead on. with the car. The impact was exceptionally severe, the cycle being completely wrecked and the front part of the car damaged and the windscreen broken. A traffic inspector who had been following the cycle along the Hutt Road was the first to arrive on the scene. He telephoned for the Free Ambulance, which took the injured men to the hospital and the body of Mr. London to the morgue. An inquest will be held.
