KILLER WHALES SEEN
Four Pass Takapuna Beach i Dominion Special Service. Auckland, December 13. Four killer whales, two of which aippeared to be calves and two fully grown, were seen off Takapuna beach shortly before midday,. They swam the length of the beach about 300 yards from the shore. Killer whales are apparently fairly plentiful in Ilauraki Gulf this season, as several have been reported recently in harbour waters. They are in the habit of swimming close to the shore in search of stingrays, but they did not appear to be pursuing any quarry when seen to-day.
