EXPORT INCREASE
Fifth Successive Month BRITISH TRADE Cheering November Returns ELEVEN MONTHS’ FIGURES (British Official Wireless.) (Received December 13, 5 p.m.) Rugby, December 12. The Board of Trade returns for November show that for the fifth successive month British exports nave increased. The figures are: — Imports £63,734,338, an increase of £1,963,285 on October and of £2,218,422 on the previous November. Exports £34,434,969, an increase Of £303,983 on October and of £3,<541,2&~ on the previous November. Compared with-November, 193-, last month’s imports show a decline of £2,335,562 in food, drink and tobacco, and an increase of £3,332,117 in raw materials and mainly unmanufactured articles. The main items contributing to the increase in last month’s exports compared with those of the previous November were iron, steel, non-ferrous, metals, cotton, yarns, woollens and manufactures thereof, chemicals and vehicles.
For the eleven months of this year the imports totalled £613,017,716, and the exports £337,012,235. Compared with the corresponding period of last year the imports declined by £29,440,575 and the exports increased by £4,371,023.
