SHOWER TEA
Bridge and Competitions A happy party in the form of a handkerchief shower tea was given for Miss Zoe La Trobe by Miss Nan Welch, Reading Street, Karori, when flag bridge was played till afternoon tea time. The lounge was decorated with Iceland poppies and ixias, and ou the table in the breakfast room, where tea was served, was a large bowl of beau-tifully-arranged mixed flowers. Prizes for bridge were won by Miss J. Clere,' Miss P. Marshall, and Miss M. Salmond. After tea there was a memory-test competition, won by Miss Mary Knox Gilmer, who remembered the largest number of the flowers in the bowl on the tea table. A lovely collection of handkerchiefs were presented to the guest of honour. The other guests were: Misses L. and D. La Trobe, S. Coates. I. Knox Gilmer. B. Lewis, R. Miller, M. Gibbons, M. White, R. Townley, M. Boyd 'Wilson, S. Donne. P. Martin, E. Goble.
