PIANOFORTE RECITAL
Mrs. Ethel Mackay’s Students / Nimmo’s Hall was packed to the doors last evening, when Mrs. Ethel Mackay presented her students in a most interesting programme of pianoforte music. The stage was decorated with briar roses and sweet peas, and ■the dainty frocks of the tiny girls, who -performed quite difficult pieces with an amazing facility, looked like prize blossoms from some fairy garden. All the work showed fine music appreciation, and spoke of careful training In technique as well as in artistic comprehension. There were some undoubtedly clever children among the smaller performers, and several of the older students showed distinct promise. , , During the evening Mrs. Mackay, as a token of appreciation, made a small presentation to Miss Edna Sneddon, one of her assistant teachers, who has received all her training, both as a student and as a teacher, in her studio. Mrs. Mackay wore a graceful dress of black lace and georgette, and a black velvet jacket ■ finished with a deep fringe.
