Oxley Defeats Hughes By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hastings, December 13. A verdict on points was secured by Ted Oxley, Ost. 2 Jib. (Pahintua) over Archie Hughes. Ost. 3Alb. (Auckland), in a bright, clean and even 15-round bout at Hastings this evening. Oxley thus retained the New Zealand lightweight title and belt. The bout was one of Un* best seen here for years. It was extremely even throughout, I lie margin in favour of Oxley being very small. The judges disagreed..
