It was fitting, said Archbishop Averill in St. Mary’s Church, ' New Plymouth, on Sunday night, that they should terminate with a genuine outpouring of praise aud thanksgiving for God’s many mercies, the series of services commemorating the noble ideals of the pioneers and pilgrims, the creation of the Mother parish of Taranaki and the appointment of the first vicar, the Rev. William Bolland. It was fitting that they should include in their thanksgiving the building of this beautiful and stately church, which at one tipie they hoped would be the Cathedral for the diocese of Taranaki, and the lives of men and women, priests aud people who had served God in their day., and generation to make this church and parish a praise in the Dominion.
