Education v. Public Trust The annual tennis match betweep the Education Department and the Public Trust Office, held at Day’s Bay, resulted in a win for the former by 15 sets to 9. The match was more closely contested than the score indicates, the games being 136 to 'll6. Detailed results are as follow, Education players being mentioned first: — Men's single's: Mills beat Dyer, 9-6; McKinnon lost to Hutchison, 2-9; Beale beat Macdonald, 9-4; Thurston lost to Heenan, 3-9; Ashby beat Diedrich, 9-4; Worthington beat Hart, 9-2. Women’s singles: Miss Bennett beat Miss Whitcombe, 7-1; Miss Bayfield beat Miss Nolan, 7-6; Miss McKenzie beat Miss Lyndon, 7-4; Miss Faine beat Miss Trevor, 7-1; Miss Styles lost to Miss Gilfedder, 3-7; Miss Hoy lost to Miss Boffa, 2-7. \ Men’s doubles: Mills and McKinnon, beat Dyer and Macdonald, 7-5; Beale and Thurston lost to Hutchison and Hart, 3-7; Ashby and Worthington lost to Heenan and Diedrich, 4-7.
