Governor-General' Thanks Women’s Institutes His Excellency the Governor-General has written as follows?-under- date November 16. to th o :bon. treasurer of the Dominion Federation of. Women's Institutes:— • “Dear Mrs. Chisnall, —I am much surprised and. deeply gratified ,by the receipt of a cheque for £5O representing contributions from members, of the Women’s 'lnstitutes throughout the Dominion to the Governor-General’s ■Relief, of Distress Fund. • '.Being fully conscious of the financial stress from which sb many, of the Institutes and their members are suffering' at the present time, this act of self ; sacrifice and practical sympathy with the destitute in our liiidst has touched me greatly. A similar contribution a few days ago from the inhabitants of" the Cook Islands has made this a notable':week in the history of the Fund.
