APPEALS DISMISSED
Convictions of Dairy Companies WHEY WASHINGS IN RIVER By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, December 12. A case of interest to dairy factories throughout the Dominion concluded this morning, when Mr. Justice Kennedy upheld convictions against the Silverstream and Mosgiel dairy companies of having allowed to flow into a stream liquid injurious to fish, namely, whey washings. His Honour held that nothing had been proved to exclude in respect of the waters in question the application of the Fisheries Act, 1908, and appals by the companies against the magistrate’s conviction were dismissed.
