AFTERNOON PARTY

Mrs. E. W. Coleridge at Home .Mrs. E. W. Coleridge was hostess yesterday afternoon at a particularly pleasant party at Bishppscourt, Riven in honour of Miss Dorothy Greensill, of Blenheim, who’ is shortly to be married to Mrs. Coleridge’s nephew, Mr. Goring Johnston. Both large rooms were comfortably warmed by luxurious open fires, and quantities of • pale yellow calceolaria, pink sweet peas, and one huge jar of arum lilies, wete beautifully arranged. A delicious afternoon tea led to strawberries and cream, and a generally happy atmosphere prevailed. Mrs. Coleridge was in a dress of black crepe de chine patterned with red. Mrs. Sprott wore fine black lace over white. Miss Greensill’s yellow silk frock had a brown bow at the neck, a short brown silk jacket, and she also wore a brown straw hat. Mrs. Walter Johnston was in black,'relieved with a red hat. Mrs. Middleton had on a black suit with white vest and a black hat, and Miss Middleton a seagreen ensemble with hat to match. Miss Campbell was in black. Among the guests were: Mrs. Bal-combe-Brown, Mrs. Montgomery Spencer, Mrs. Greensill Morgan, Mrs. Eardley Fenwick. Miss Fenwick, Miss Medley. Miss Edwin, Mrs. Loughnan.
