CANCER CAMPAIGN
Street Day to be Held At a meeting held yesterday afternoon by the Cancer Campaign Society in the Navy League • rooms, arrangements were made for a street day next Wednesday. The proceeds from this collection will go to the Cancer Consultation Clinic at the Wellington Public Hospital, for which funds are urgently needed. The clinic is doing wonderful work. The doctors meet there once a week, and hundreds of patients are given help and hope. There is a great shortage of money at present owing partly to the fact that no grant was made this year from the Macarthy Trust, and also because of the reduction in interest. The executive are hoping that the result from Wednesday’s effort will secure the continuance of the clinic, and help with other activities connected with the cancer campaign.
