ARMS FOR BOLIVIA

United States Loan Issue

Washington, October 12.

Vice-President Hayward, of the Dillon Read Company, to-day stated that the payment of the Bolivian Armaments Bill with part of the proceeds of a bond issue floated in the United States by his company was specifically approved by the State Department in 1928.

He declared that the State Department had full information on the armaments debts 'when a 23,000,000 dollar Bolivian loan was floated five years ago. This issue was now in default. The company had derived 255,565 dollars’ profit by the flotation.
