THE “CROON”
London’s ’ New Dance
And now the “croon dance”!
Experts say that it is likely to sweep London this season—it can be done on a table top. though presumably that is not its sole claim to popularity. It has been invented by Miss Phyllis Haylor, of the Empress Rooms, Kensington. ■ The main steps consist of a sequence of four, with a number of variations, and can be done to the slow foxtrot rhythms and crooning melodies of today. They have been accepted by the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing.
The main walk is a short step forward on the right foot, placing the right to the side, then a swivel on both feet, keeping the weight on the right foot. This movement can be danced on alternative feet and also taken turning to the right or left.—Reuter, Special to “The Dominion.”
