BRIDGE AFTERNOON
Wadestown Branch W.N.R.
The Wadestown branch of the Women’s National Reserve held a successful bridge afternoon at Kirkcaldle and Stains this week. Tables were arranged by Mesdames W. B. McKenzie, G. Carwell Cooke, R. J. Booth (six tables), C. Richardson (two tables),' E, Rowe, Nelson-Jones, Grainger, Harrie, Pope, Bothamley, F. Pope, Armstrong, S. D. Waters, C. Mirams, H. Rose, W. T. Esson, F. W. D. Quaintrell, and Gunn; Misses J. Hall, Sidey, Lomas, Banks, and Wiltshire. There were 27 tables with players. Donations were sent in by Mesdames G. E. Hunter, R. Gibbons, G. P. H. Davidson, and H. Anderson.
The two prizes presented by Messrs. Kirkcaldie and Stains, Ltd., were won by Mrs. Pope and Mrs. M. Dennehy, and that given by Miss Davy went to Mrs. J. H. Dickinson. Mrs. A. R. Otway, Mrs. Thomson, and Miss McDiarmid were in charge of the sweets. A good sum was realised in aid of the funds of the Owen .Street Nursery.
