BYRD EXPEDITION
Departure of Second Ship
Boston, October 11
The Ruppert Jacob, Rear-Admiral Byrd’s supply ship, sailed for New Zealand to-day. She will call at Bayonne. New Jersey, for fuel, and sail thence to join the Bear, the flagship, at Norfolk. Rear-Admiral Byrd will remain at New York, and will join the expedition In the Panama Canal. It is expected that he will fly there within a few days.
