Mr. J. Sutherland Ross, Dunedin, arrived in Wellington yesterday morning from the south. Captain C. M. Graham, R.N., has been appointed honorary naval aide-de-camp to his Excellency, the GovernorGeneral, in succession to Captain M. J, C. do Meric, whose period of appointment in that capacity has expired.
Herr Alfred Kummerle, of Brandenburg, Germany, with his wife, arrived from England by the Tamaroa. It is his intention to toiu the whole of New Zealand by motor-car. One of his first actions yesterday .vas, to secure a driver’s license, a necessity, as he intends to drive himself through the country, leaving for Hawke’s Bay today. Herr Kummerle is very much interested in the wool business in his country, as the representative of the Emil Kummerle spinning mills of Brandenburg. On the conclusion of his stay In New Zealand, he will visit Australia, the Dutch East Indies, and Chino.
