WRESTLING CONTEST
Billy Meeske on Monday
Meeske, the holder of the Australian heavyweight title, had been sent for by the Wrestling Union nearly two months ago to give variety to the wrestling conducted by the American visitors. A dispute with immigration officers resulted in Meeske missing one boat, a delay to the Wanganella lost him another week, and he now finds himself very close to the end of the season. He was booked only for matches with Mamos, Rumberg, and Walker, but, owing to the early departure of Mamos and Rumberg, Meeske must wrestle Walker after next week. He is to meet Mamos at the Town Hall on Monday. This pair are alike in many respects, with variety and vim in favour of the Australian. Meeske holds championship records for boxing, swimming, athletics, and wrestling. Tn this latter sport only is he a professional. Mamos and the other Americans will leave on October 21, so that this will be the last match for the season. The New Zealand amateur championships are to be held on Jjfoesday and. Wednesday,
