In the first semi-final, S. Humphreys (Christchurch) beat J. Martin (Christchurch) by GG6 points to 537,' reversing the placing's in the Canterbury championship final last week. Humphries played fine all-round billiards and frequently ran up breaks opening from Martin’s safety play. In the second round W. E. Hackett (Auckland) beat L. Blaekaby (Christchurch) by 6G6 to 447, and Albertson (Lyttelton) beat McLean (Christchurch) by 666 to 583.
