SEAMAN CHARGED
Attempted Murder Alleged COMMITTED FOR TRIAL By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, September 28. Helge Vigo Sorenson, aged 46, a seaman, was charged in. the Police Court to-day with attempting to murder Louisa Annie Thompson and with assaulting Roy Johnston so as to cause actual bodily harm. The offences were alleged to have occurred at Onenunga on Hie evening of Saturday. September 2. ’ Evidence was given that following a party to which ■ Sorenson, a stranger, was Invited, and at which a, large .quantity of liquor was consumed, a man and a woman were stabbed, apparently with a knife. . No evidence was given that the accused had a knife, and two witnesses disagreed w’.h Mrs. Thompson’s statement that a scuffle occurred before she was injured. . Accused pleaded not guilty and was committed for trial.
