Sub-Association Meeting Only one club was not represented at the annual general meeting of the Hutt Valley Dawn Tennis Sub-Asso-ciation, which was presided over by Mr. W. V. Fisher. Tho report showed that the past season had been most successful. Financially, the association showed a credit balance of £2O/8/5. All clubs had paid their affiliation fees. Congratulations were extended to the following for winning the grade competitions:—Senior, Lower Hutt Club; junior, Trentham Club; third grade, Koro Koro; fourth grade, Taita Club; fifth grade, Waiwetu ClubThanks were expressed to all who had assisted, and particularly to Mr. Walter Lees for the donation of trophies. A motion of appreciation of the services of Mr. A. G. Smith, hon. secretary, and Mr. H. G. Flux, hon. treasurer, was passed, and a vote of thanks was accorded Mr. R. T. Wright, the retiring auditor, who is leaving the district. Tire following officers were elected: President, Six’ Alexander Roberts; vicepresident, Mr. Walter Lees; life members, Messrs. R. Pononga Club The annual report of the Pononga Tennis Club, which was presented at the annual meeting, was considered to be a very encouraging one, especially because of the excellent financial position of the club. The president, Mr. J. T. Crozier, presided over a good attendance of members The goal toward which the club has been striving since its commencement has not been attained, states the report, and the debt of £350 has now been paid in full, leaving the club in a favourable financial position to start the new season. The membership for the past season was twenty-five. Teams were entered in the third and fifth grades of the Hutt Valley Lawn Tennis Sub-Association club competitions, both teams being runners-up in their respective grades. The Rose bowl was won by Miss E. Ashton and Mr. J. Taylor, and the singles championships were won by Miss M. Wilkins and Mr. W. J. Taylor. During the year, several monthly tournaments were played fox’ the Silver Buttons, and the junior trophy was won by Miss E. Norman and Mr R. Williams.
