WEDDING
N etherclif t—Barber A quiet wedding was celebrated at St. John’s Church, Feildlng, on Thursday afternoon, August 24, when Gwendoline Hazeldine, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hazeldine Barber, of Sheffield, England, was married to Noel Richard, only son of Mr. E. P. Netherclift and the late Mrs. Netherclift, Marton. The ceremony was performed by Canon F. H. Petrie, M.A., and the church was decorated with pin); camellias and prunus blossom. Mr. A. Golding was organist. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. E. Hazeldine Barber, wore a gown of white angel-skin lace, and fine net veil, and she carried a sheaf of white flowers and blue iris. Miss Helen Hodges, England, acted as bridesmaid, wearing beige georgette with wreath and posy of primroses and forget-me-nots. V Two small maids, Anne Lethbridge (niece of the bride), and Gillian Fowler (niece of the bridegroom), wearing long powder-blue hallstone muslin frocks, carried the veil. Mr. T. Harrison, of Wanganui, acted as best man. • After the, ceremony a few Intimate friends were entertained at the home of the bridegroom's sister, Mrs. W. Coulson-Fowler. The latter wore' rustcoloured afgaline .with brown crushed ermine collar. Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Lethbridge (pister of the bride) assisted in receiving the guests. Mrs. Lethbridge wore bottle-green crashed velvet. Miss Patricia Fowler wore blue gulmpe, and hat to tone. —- ' Scarlet and rose camellias, primroses and violets were used on the breakfast table, and Mrs. Arthur Wheeler made the beautiful wedding cake. When Mr. and Mrs. Netherclift left, the latter wore a frock of grey French Crepe fie chine, and scarlet georgette, with tailored coat of grey. Their future home will be in Wanganui. .
