Monsoon Now Active PARTY AT BASE CAMP London, June IlMr. Hugh Ruttledge, leader of the Everest expedition, in a wireless message from Mount Everest, says: “The ■whole party is now at the base camp after the climbers’ descent from Camp Three. The mSnsoon is now active and Everest is covered with fresh snow. When the weather moderates. Smythe, Harris, Shipton, Longland. Crawford, Brocklebank. and Greene will reasceml the glacier on a fresh assault on the summit. All are slightly frost-bitten, and all, except Smythe, are suffering from a slight dilation of the heart.”.
