The Society for the Protection of Women and Children held its first meet Ing in the new oilices on Friday. The committee expressed its pleasure and approval at the change, and a hearty vote of thanks was passed to those who had helped in the move. The committee offered its congratulations to Miss Kirk on her appointment as president of the Wellington branch of the National Council of Women. It was felt that her knowledge of the needs of women in general make her exceptionally suitable for the position. A very acceptable parcel of books and papers was received from the Victoria League and gratefully acknovz lodged.
