Returns to Wellington
Miss Nelle Scanlan, the New Zealand journalist and novelist, returned from Sydney by the Makura yesterday and is staying at “Croydon,” 22 Hill Street. Mis? Scanlan expects to sail again for England by the Rotorua on July 7i “Australia has been extremely kind to me,” she says, “and as a farewell the New Zealand Women’s Association in Sydney had a reception for me the day I sailed. Miss Scanlan’s new book, “Tides of Youth,” will arrive in Wellington later this week. This New Zealand novel has a very characteristic jacket designed by the New Zealand artist, Mr. Nugent Welch.
