OBJECTION BY POLICE
Grant of Hotel License APPLICATION ADJOURNED Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North, June 12. An objection to the granting of a license to the Bunnythorpe Hotel was made by the police at the annual meeting of the Oroua Licensing Committee. Sergeant Angland, of Feilding, said the licensee had been lined £5 and costs on two charges of selling liquor after hours, and supplying liquor to Maoris for consumption off the premises. The Maoris had left the hotel on a motor-cycle, and had collided with another motor-eyele. As a result of ths accident one of tbe Maoris had succumbed to his injuries. Prior to this offence the licensee had had a elean record. The committee decided to adjourn the application for three months, when a snecial report would be tabled on the conduct of the hotel during that time.
