HEAT TAKES TOLL
Deaths in United States NEARLY 100 SUCCUMB (Received June 11, 7.30 p.m.) New York, June 9. An unseasonable heat wave in eastern and southern sections of the United States to-day resulted in almost a hundred deaths. The official temperature in New York was 96 degrees. In Philadelphia schools were closed on account of the heat.
