COMING-OF-AGE PARTY

A long table in the D.I.C. Tea Rooms was beautifully arranged on Thursday afternoon, when Mrs. C. F. Bruce entertained Miss Margaret Webb on this occasion of' her twenty-first birthday. Two tall crystal vases held sprays of asparagus fern and pink giant heath, while from brown wicker baskets clumps of the lovely mauve iris stylosa grew iu a most natural manner. A three-colour scheme was completed by cyclamen table linen, which matched the silk of the window curtains, all forming a delightful setting for the many delicacies displayed in tempting array. A birthday cake of pineapple ice cream, decorated with twenty-one liqueur dolls, held the place of honour in the centre. Mrs. Bruce, in a smart brown ensemble, with small hat to match, met her guests in the lounge, presenting botli Miss Webb and her mother, Mrs. A. N. Webb, with lovely bouquets of violets.
