SPARROW SHOOTING
Gun Club Opens Season Masterton, June 11. The Mastertou Gun Club opened its season on Saturday with a tifteen-bird sparrow match. Tbe conditions were ideal for these small targets, but with the exception of R. J. King and J. Gallagher, who brought down the possible, the shooting was only fair. Following are the results:— R. J. King (26yds.), 35; J. Gallagher (17vds.), 35: F. Cooper (19yds.), 33; R. A. Buick (20yds.), 13: F. H. Taplin (3.9yd5.), 10; R. Buick (23yds.), 10. Seven others took part. A second sweep of six birds concluded the day’s shooting, and. this was divided between McLachlan and J. Catherall.
