Australia’s Constitution PREMIERS’ OPPOSITION Melbourne, June 9. The Prime Minister of Australia, Mr. J. A. Lyons, explained to the Premiers’ Conference the Federal Government's scheme for a proposed Constitutional Convention which would consist of 18 State representatives and a similar number of Commonwealth representatives, the convention to make recommendations to the Commonwealth Government.
Marked hostility to the plan was displayed by several Premiers.
