ON EVEREST’S SLOPES
Rndio Telephony Feat TALK TO GOVERNOR London, June 8. The “Daily Telegraph’s” Darjeeling correspondent says that the wireless operators attached to the Everest expedition achieved a remarkable transmission on Wednesday. They called up Government House, where the Governor of Bengal conversed with Messrs. Shebbeare and Frank Smythe at the base camp. Mr. Shebbeare said that all the members of the expedition were in good health. Mr Smythe said that it was not to be thought that they were yet beaten. The Governor replied that he was following the progress of the climbers with the greatest admiration and wished them success.
