ERECTION OF BRIDGE
Wanganui River Board Dominion . Special Service. Wanganui, June 9. Good progress is being made with tiie erection of the Ruapirau Stream bridge, and it is anticipated that it will be completed in about three weeks’ time. Tiie piers have been finished and the steel work is ready to be placed in position. With tiie completion of the bridge, the Wanganui River Road will be open from Wanganui to Pipiriki, although motorists are advised not to traverse it during the winter months. Several temporary bridges have been erected over intermediate streams, including tbe Kaukore Stream, below Pipiriki House; the Mangoihe Stream, at Jerusalem; tbe Whautaumu Stream, below Ranana: and the Motuaruhe Stream, below Matahiwi.
