Ministerial. The Don. Bitcbener, Minister of Public Works, is expected to return to ■Wellington from Lyttelton this morning. Mr. F. N. R. Meadows has returned from New Plymouth and Auckland. Mr. G. W.t-Clinkard, general manager of the Tourist Department, left for the .South Island on Monday evening. Sir Andrew Russell arrived in Wellington from Iho Sout h Island yesterday morning. Mr. and Mrs. 11. A. Bowu have returned to Wellington via the East. Coast after a holiday in Auckland. Mr. P. McSkimining, M.P., arrived in Wellington yesterday morning from the South island. Messrs. R. B. and N. E. Tingey were passengers from the South Island yesterday morning. Sir William Hunt was among the passengers who arrived in Wellington yesterday morning from the south. Sir. John Brownlee, the famous baritone, arrived from the South Island last night and is staying at the Hotel St. George. Mr. W. Ogier, of the Otaki Post Office. has been appointed postmaster at Blackball, and will leave next week for the south. Mr. R. T. Tosswill, Christchurch, will be visiting England shortly, and he will attend the international congress on accounting in London in July. ' •Mr. T. Raphael, for many years connected with cricket aud other sporting activities in Christchurch, is reported to be seriously ill. Mr. Raphael is well known in Wellington. Mr. 11. McD. Vincent, of the literary staff of the ‘‘Sun.” has been elected chief of the Christchurch Savage Club, in succession to Mr. A. M. Burns, also a prominent, newspaper man. Mr. Frank Milner, headmaster of the Waitaki Boys’ High School, will represent the Rotary Clubs of New Zealand at the International Conference to be held in Boston next month., Mr. I. C. Geddes, a director of the Orient Steamship Company, arrived in Wellington yesterday. Mr. Geddes is also a member of the London board of the Bank of New South Wales.

Mr. E. 11. Fisher, of the teaching staff of the South Wellington School, who has received notice of his transfer to Carterton, has resigned his position as primary schools’ delegate on the management- committee of the Wellington Rugby Football Union. At last evening’s meeting of the committee Mr. Fisher was thanked for his past services. and a motion placing on record high appreciation of his work was carried. Mr. I. B. Fleming, of the staff of To Aro School, has be-'n appointed to till the vacancy on Hie committee.
