HOME AND SCHOOL

Kilbirnie Association Dance On Saturday evening tlie Kilbirnie Home and School Association held the first of its fortnightly dances in the infant room of the school. Last season these were eagerly looked forward to by ex-pupils, parents and friends, and their popularity was again evident on Saturday night. Advantage was taken by the president, Mr. E. AVells, to briefly explain tlie objects of the association and the purposes to which the proceeds of last year's dances had been devoted, at tlie same time expressing appreciation of tlie manner in which many parents had assisted them.

The hall was gaily decorated with streamers and balloons, the lights being softly shaded with pretty coloured lanterns. Both modern and old-time dancing was entered into with great spirit. During the evening two exhibition dances were given by Miss Maida AVilson, and Air. T. Priestly, of Miss Alargaret O'Connor’s studio. Mr. Austin Blackie, who possesses a delightful tenor voice, sang “Dream Boat” and “Alary.” Prizes, which had been generously donated, were awarded to the winners of the Alonte Carlo. An energetic committee of ladies provided a delectable home-made supper.
