ROAD DETERIORATION
Need for Further Funds Concern at the condition into which the arterial highways are deteriorating was expressed by Mr. G. D. Hamilton at last evening’s meeting of the executive of the Wellington Automobile Club. Mr. Hamilton referred to specific instances, and stated that the deterioration was, of course, brought about by the diversion of the Main Highways funds. After further discussion, it was decided that a further resolution should go forward Io the Government, through the union drawing attention lo the matter with a request that the vote for main highway purposes should be substantially increased so that the serious deterioration should be arrested without further delay, and before the physical collapse of some of the arterial highways takes place.
