LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

Special Conference Held

A special conference of the Provincial Committee of the League of Mothers was held last week in the Y.W.C.A. Representative officers from all branches attended by invitation. Mrs. Charles White presided. There were also present Mesdames J. Elliott, E. Dawson, Peter Fraser, Norman, Cornish, Wall, Clarke, Ballard, Jensen, Mowlem, Kerr, Hindmarsh, Hodge, Rankine Brown, Wilkinson, Macßae, P. Marshall, A. P. Smith. Wylie and Hughes (Stokes Valley), Maunsell and Rich (Masterton), Dr. Elizabeth Bryson, and the honorary secretary. Dr. Elizabeth Bryson prepared the way for discussion by recalling the objects of the League, and by reminding members that only by keeping themselves from being worried and distracted could they help with other mothers in these anxious days. An interesting and helpful discussion followed, experiences were exchanged, original methods noted for adoption, and warm appreciation expressed for encouragement given to the League by public-spirited men and women. Mrs. Ernest Dawson (hon. Dominion secretary) gave a brief and comprelieusive resume of conclusions arriv cd at, and in a most convincing manner brought home to all present the need for carrying on the work of the League and attracting still more mothers to the ranks. ~ Mrs. Dawson was thanked by Mrs. Elliott and Mrs. White, and heartily applauded.
