NEW TRAM SHELTERS
Fitzherbert Terrace Lay-out
TRAFFIC DANGER FEARED
Assertions that the City Council had created an obstruction and a danger to traffic by the erection of tram shelters at the Molesworth Street end of Fitzherbert Terrace were made at. last evening’s meeting of rhe Wellington Automobile Club. It: was held, in the report of the works committee, that remedial steps were urgently needed. The opinion was expressed Unit, taking the conditions into account, the lay-out of these shelters was most unsatisfactory. The advice received from the City Council to the effect: that until funds were available to construct, a crossroad in Fitzherbert Terrace, it. was not prepared to introduce “one way traffic” in this thoroughfare, was also mentioned, it being hold flint Hie matter should be referred back to the council with a request, that: the “one.way traffic" rule be brought into force immediately.
The chairman of the executive. Mr. E. A. Ball, said that Hie Cily Council appeared to have a geuius for creating danger spots.
