Mr. J. R. Kirk returned from a visit to the South Island yesterday.

■Squadron-Leader T. M. Wilkes, Director of Air Services, returned to M ellington from the south yesterday. Mr. P. R. Climie. of the Unemployment Board, has returned to Christchurch.

Messrs, Norman Aitken anil Herbert F. Wood, owners of Aut.opay and other racehorses, are due back from Sydney by the Monowai this morning. Mr. N. S. Falla, manager of the Federal Steam Navigation Company, has gone to the South Island, and is expected back in Wellington toward the end of this week.

Mr. C. Alma Baker, who has been visiting New Zealand for the deep-sea fishing, left Auckland by the Wanganella for Sydney on his return to the Malay States. He is accompanied by Mrs. Baker.

Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Greaves, of Newcastle. They intend to spend five months in Canada and the United States and will then return to New Zealand.
