Wellington v. Miramar AN EXCITING DRAW Some Brilliant Play The first golf match of the 11)33 season between the Wellington and .Miramar clulis, was piaycd on Saturday, and resulted in a, draw, both sides winning twelve games. The match bet ween the A teams on tin: llcretaunga links resulted in a sweeping victory for Wellington by nine games to three, but Miramar reversed these figures in the contest between the B teams on Miramar links. Some brilliant golf was witnessed on the Ucretauuga course. 11. A. Black (Miramar) recording a 12. to defeat B,_G. Louguel by 3 and 2. Blaek did the sth hole (192 yards) in one. Wellington won the contest lor the Squadron Cup and Crawford Crescent, which is fought out between the leading eight players in the A teams, by six games to two. The weather was threatening as the players started out about 1 o’clock, and a few light showers fell, but conditions improved as the afternoon wore on. Both courses were in perfect order.
