ROAD RACING BEGINS

Poneke Cycling Club NEW RIDER’S SUCCESS The road racing Reason' opened on Saturday with a 10}-mile event, conducted by the Poneke Cycling Club, which was won by a new rider, S. Catland, by a narrow margin from J. Abel and h. Laskey. A strong northerly wind hampered the 28 competitors, but under the circumstances, good time was recorded. .The scratch riders. Blackett and Ericsson, put in an appearance half a minute after the winners. Blackett leading Ericsson in, to secure fastest time. The placed riders rode well, and thoroughly deserved their success.
