The Professional Golfers’ Association lias nominated the following 22 I’layers from whom the team of eight will be chosen to represent Great Britain against' America in the Ryder Cup professional golf match at Southport on June 26 ami 27 :— . . , Percy Alliss. Padgham. A. I’erry, F. Robson. Mark Seymour, AA'. T, Twine, C, A. AA hitcombe. R. A. AVhitcombe. A non-playing captain will be selected later. The selection committee state that they may add to the list from time to time if desirable. Of the twenty-two, ten have, previously played for Britain in the match":—Compston. Duncan, Davies, Easterbrook, Havers, Hodson, Jolly. Mitchell. Robson, Charles AVhitcombe. One notable absentee is Ernest AVhitcombe, the youngest of three brothers. He is the only member of the last Ryder Cup team to be dropped. His name, however, can be included later if his form in 1933 impresses the selection committee. The name of George Dunean is being mentioned as the likely non-play-ing captain. He captained the victorious team in Leeds in 1928, and it was largely his leadership which w.m the match for Great Britain. A young and comparatively unknown player to he among the nominations is C.
