NEW SCHOLARSHIP

Canterbury College IN MEMORY OF A SON By Telegraph.—-Press Association. Christchurch, April 13. The announcement of a new scholarship, to be known as the Hiatt Baker Scholarships, for graduates of the University of New Zealand, is made by Dr. Hight, rector of Canterbury College. The scholarship, which has been endowed by Mr. Hiatt Baker in memory of a son killed in the Napier earthquake, is of a value of £2OO a year, and is tenable for two years, but the term may be extended for a third year. Election to the scholarship is to be made by the vice-chancellor of Bristol University England, where the scholars will be expected to continue their studies In one of the subjects for which degrees are awarded.
