TRENTHAM TRACKS t ■ Very Busy Morning SOME SMART WORK Prominent Candidates Out (By ‘The Watcher.”) . Yesterday was a very busy morning on the tracks at Trentham, the majority of the visitors to the meeting having put in an appearance. There was a good deal of fast galloping, the plough, the trial grass, and tho course proper all being used. The grass tracks were very fast. Autopay , and Normandy worked while it was still quite dark. Both have done well. J. W. Lowe was present, and then said gopd-bye to his friends, and left to join the Wanganella for Melbourne with lied &un and Sage. ' * Dole and Pegged Exchange worked oh

the course proper before the day broke properly. H. N. Wiggins will ride Pegged Exchange. Golden Horn and Cape Town could not have improved much on their lmin. 17J sec. for six furlongs. Nor could Shootist and Invite on the 51$sec. for the last four of their work. • . Bay Tree cantered down the sprint course, and Midian worked easily on the plough. Both these colts look well. Guarantee sprinted from the mile post down the back of the course proper. He appeared to be moving a bit short. Golden Hair and Peschiera sprinted down the. straight on the plough at the end of their work. Barry rides the filly and Atkins will be on Peschiera. Eminent, under a lightweight, held Might at the end of six in lmin. 16sec. Epigram went with them, and eased off over the last furlong. Eminent went particularly well, and so did Might. Fracas ran four furlongs on the main track, finishing well. Red Manfred did a similar task from the five-furlong barrier. Gay Crest and Tout le Mond ran six on the plough,in.lmin. 16sec. Tout ’ le Mond drew out at the finish of a good gallopl Cricket Bat ran a smart six in lmin. 15Jsec., and did it,well.
